Who are we?
The Foley Freeze is a FIRST robotics team based in Bishop Foley Catholic High School. Known as Team 910 in the FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition), we have participated in the program since 2002. We are a team of engineers, designers, programmers, and creatives who are all working toward one goal. We work in a collaborative environment to accomplish our STEM ideals and further the mission of FIRST.
Growth of Team 910
In its rookie year, the Foley Freeze had seven students and has since grown to 42 students and 23 mentors, on whom the team reaches to for guidance and leadership. The team is comprised of a diverse group of students that is approximately 15% of the school population.
The Foley Freeze ranked nationally in 2007 and has continually gained worldwide recognition as a creative and successful team. We have won multiple awards in the last few years alone. However, it’s not the awards that we are proud of, but rather the impact on the lives of the young men and women who have come through the robotics program at Bishop Foley.
This season
This upcoming season we will be working to design and build our robot for the 2025 game Reefscape. In addition to building our robot, we are concentrating on community outreach and promoting our team through the Glacial Gazette and social media. Everyone on the team gives their best work to ensure that being a member of the Foley Freeze is a title to be proud of.
Team 910 would be nowhere without funding from corporate sponsors, local businesses, and many family and friends. Our mentors, many of them Bishop Foley alumni, are a big part of our success, working endlessly with the students to create a successful team. We take pride in the large family involvement and support from the “Foley Family.”
